Growing Older

A dear friend of ours shared a poem with us called "My Son My Executioner". He talked with us about our son and how our lives are now being measured by his. I don't think we comprehended what that really meant until now. I am 25 years old and have never known life without all four of my grandparents. We have been so blessed. Well, Grandpa's health has not been wonderful these days, and we were advised to come down and visit him. It was a wonderful visit, and we were so lucky that while we were there he took a wonderful turn for the better. We all got to visit with him, and talk with him, he is a wonderful man and we love him dearly. He is now back in ICU, but we continue to hope and pray that whatever is supposed to happen will happen. Anyway, while we were down there and I visited my Grandparents I began to understand that the older I get, the older they get, and as I watch Ethan change before my eyes daily, I wonder, do I change that drastically daily too? And the older he gets the less time we have together, and yet you feel that moving forward is the right thing for both him and you. Interesting, how bitter sweet it is. I guess all we can do is make the most out of the time we have and treasure every moment.

Ethan then at 1 week old

Ethan now at 4 1/2 months

While we were in AZ we got to take Ethan swimming!!! HE LOVES THE POOL!!!!!

Ethan started on rice cereal, and wasn't the biggest fan.
After we was so full, he was able to finally show us his smile!!!!

My sister Jen got engaged to Covey. We are so excited for them, and so excited to have Covey as part of the family. We love you guys!!!!

Easter, Cousins, and Tulips

We had so much fun watching Ethan get his presents from the Easter Bunny. Having children makes the Holidays so much more meaningful.

We just went down to Arizona to see our new nephew, Landon. He is so cute, and it was crazy how big Ethan began to look. I felt like I might as well have had a toddler. These two are going to be such great buddies.

Landon is such a beautiful little baby. He has a dipples on his nose, and chin. He already has pretty blue eyes, and such cute features. We love you little guy.

Gavin and Baylie are great big brother and sister to Landon. It is so amazing to watch them. Gavin loves to hold him, and Baylie sometimes tries to take care of him like she does with her dolly. Rachel and Alan have done such a great job with these two and it's so fun that they are now the parents of three. Ross and I look up to them alot. We love you guys.

As I was down there I couldn't believe that now I had kids that were going to grow up with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas, and grandpas. It's funny because I have been an aunt now for over five years but it didn't hit me until I had my own. Funny how that works!!! Ross and I are so grateful for both of our families because they are so wonderful and we are so excited you guys get to be a part of Ethan and our future children's lives.

Ross and I went to tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point to celebrate Sarah's birthday. This is my favorite thing in Utah of the year. It is so beautiful, and colorful. It was fun to go with Sarah, Trevor and to have Jen and Covey there too. We had a blast. It was so beautiful and overcast. We had to wear ponchos, which was cool, and Sarah and I took a ton of pictures.

Ross and I like to call Ethan our "bud"dy. Ok yeah that was lame but I swear it was funny in my head. Good thing we all can laugh at ourselves sometimes.

My sister Sarah has such a good eye for photography. I love to go and take pictures with her. She is amazing at it. These two photos were among many of her good ones. I am so lucky to have three very beautiful and talented sisters. They, along with my mom, are my best friends and I am so happy we get to share life together. (Wow, having a child has turned me into a sap.)

Seriously, if you haven't gone to the Tulip Festival you should put on your list of things you want to do. It is so peaceful to walk around God's beautiful creations. I always think of that beautiful song.

Whenever I hear the song of a bird, or look at the blue blue sky.
Whenever I feel the rain on my face, or the wind as it rushes by.
Whenever I touch a velvet rose, or walk by a lilac tree.
I'm glad that I live in this beautiful world, Heavenly Father created for me.

Lots of News

Our house!!!
Yes we finally got into a house. It's not the one we thought it was going to be, but the Lord knew what we wanted. We have always wanted an older home with lots of character and in a good neighborhood. But, when we started looking we had a harder time finding what we wanted in a good neighborhood, so we canned the idea and went looking for newer homes. However, when all the ones we were looking at fell through we found this one. We LOVE this home, and knew it was the one when we walked through it. It is in Lehi so it is a great location for our family. Ross cut his commute and we are still close to family. We are so blessed.

The family room

Ethan's Nursery

We love his bookcase and Rocking chair!!!

The sight of his clothes is one of my favorite!!!

This is his awesome crib that my grand parents got him and his bedding. My Grandma also made him a cute quilt that he sleeps with every night that I thought was pictured. Sorry grandma, but he does LOVE the quilt!!

This is the little pattern rug we made on his floor. It matches the pattern on his bumper

Our Piano!!!
As a house warming gift Ross's parents got us our first piano!!! We LOVE it , and hearing Ross play it really makes it feel like home. Ethan loves to lay down and hear Daddy play the piano.

Ethan is 2 months old!!!
We can hardly believe it but it is true. He is getting so big, and sooo cute. We love you buddy!!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub!!!!

Ethan LOVES bath time!!! This little smile says it all. He lays in the tub and as long as we keep a warm rag on his belly, he is in heaven!!! He even stretches his legs out to put his feet in the warm water. I can't wait for summer to take him into the pool and see how he likes swimming!!

Thanks Mom!

I have to say thank you to my mom!!! She came and stayed for two weeks to help me adjust to being a new mom. Ethan loved having that time with her, and so did I. She is the best. Mom thanks for being so great, and thanks for loving all us girls as much as you do. I know that it has to be as much as I love my Ethan, and it's pretty much incredible. Also, thanks for doing what you have done in raising us kids. Being a mom is a tough job, it's amazing but tough. Dad, thanks for doing what you do too. I watched how hard it was for Ross to go back to work, and I realize that it's a sacrifice on both ends. You are both incredible and Ross and I love you both alot.
